NARRATIVE – The electoral commission validated, on Monday, three candidacies for the presidential election of October 6, rejecting the decision of the administrative court to reinstate three other contenders.

On Monday evening, the sky was stormy in Tunis. Just like its political landscape. The Isie, the electoral body, announced in the middle of the day the list of candidates for the presidential election of October 6. There will be three of them, including the current President of the Republic.. The Isie therefore maintains its position, ignoring the decision to reinstate certain candidates taken by the administrative court last week. The reactions of indignation were not long in coming. All the more so since one of the three official candidates, Ayachi Zammel, had been taken into police custody a few hours earlier.
Of the twenty or so applications submitted in July, only three were ultimately accepted by the Isie. Unsurprisingly, Kais Saiedthe current tenant of Carthage, is one of them.
