In Germany, everyone against the AfD, or how to destroy the concept of democracy


SEEN FROM ELSEWHERE – In Saxony and Thuringia, the AfD won a victory at the polls. However, these results were immediately contested and labelled as undemocratic. Can we conclude from this that voting democratically means not voting for the AfD? Interesting. What about the freedom of choice of adult citizens?

In view of the provisional results of the Regional elections in Saxony and Thuringiaone might almost wonder whether democracy is such a good idea. Or at least if we start from the principle that everyone simply votes according to their soul and conscience.

After all, media representatives and politicians have repeatedly tried, through pedagogy, to call on the inhabitants of these regions to “vote democratically”. But this effort was largely in vain. Perhaps the East Germans simply did not get the message. In that case, the traffic light coalition will have to explain its policies better in the future.
